About the 1 g gold bar

Small minted bars are usually sealed in a tamper-evident assay card showing the weight, fineness and serial number. Making and packing a tiny bar costs almost as much as a larger one, so the premium per gram is the highest in the range. The 1 g bar suits gifts and first purchases more than building a large holding.

Small gold bars are a simple way to start buying gold or to add to a holding regularly. Gold is valued by weight and purity, so a bar of 999.9 fine gold is priced the same way anywhere in the world. The main difference between sizes is the premium, which falls as the bar gets larger.
